 Children's Room

     The fun place where children   of all ages come to find thousands of interesting and exciting books to read and enjoy. There are a lot of new ones in Junior fiction and Junior Non-fiction readers as well as easy readers.

  There are three educational  
  computers that have software 
  games that make learning fun.   



PROGRAMS
Children of all ages are invited to attend many year round programs offered here.

Every Thursday from 10:30a.m. - 11:30a.m. We have Story time for all pre-schoolers. We encourage our home schoolers to attend. Children are treated to a program of reading, puppets, music, games, crafts and refreshments. On occasion, we have outside presenters who share their expertise. 


SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Home School Meetings are for home school children of all ages and are held each month for one hour. Presenters give workshops on various areas of educational interest. Parents share ideas among one another. Drawing for door prizes and refreshments are served at each meeting.
 
Pumpkin Walk is where pre-schoolers come dressed in costume, walk up and down Main Street
in Humboldt collecting goodies from the many participating merchants. Afterwards, we have a
party for the children and give away live pumpkins to decorate.  

Halloween Party is an annual Halloween event presented by the Junior Auxiliary of Humboldt where children dress in costume and listen to stories read by members of  Humboldt  Viking Football team and the Humboldt Viking Cheerleaders. They also give out goodies to all the children.

Santa's Workshop is an annual Christmas event presented by the Junior Auxiliary of Humboldt 
where children Pre-K through 5th grade come to have their picture taken with Santa and shop for
Christmas gifts. Members of the Auxiliary read Christmas stories to the children and they are given goodies.

CONTESTS               

Coloring Contest is for Children K through Grade 6 who are encourged to participate. Each month there is a new sheet to color and they are judged with 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners receiving prizes.
Our new contest is a picture of our President celebrating Black History Month. The coloring sheets may be picked up and dropped off in the Children's room. Name, grade and phone number must be on back of sheet and the deadline is February 27th.

Prize Drawing Contest is for every three childrens books checked out, children may put their name in a drawing to win a nice prize monthly!
